One of the things I really like about macOS Sonoma: The ability to put widgets directly on the desktop. https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT213659
I have:
- Weather
- To do list
- Calendar
- Recent notes list from Drafts.app
- Shortcuts (for launching frequently used shortcuts from the shortcuts app)

We were finger painting with Charlie the other day and my wife Amanda started playing around with the brushes and ended up with this. I love it! Such nice texture. She had no plan and it took about 5 minutes. It would take me a month to create something like this with a generative art script in Processing.

After updating to macOS Sonoma last night, I found myself unable to get online this morning. It took me a while to figure out, but the problem ended up being Little Snitch, a reverse firewall. I was running a version that wouldn’t run correctly on Sonoma, but since it was blocking access to the internet for everything I couldn’t update it. I had to go to System Settings > Network > Filters and turn off Little Snitch to stop filtering my internet connection through it, then I was able to get online and run the update.
