Just realized that when doing Wordle, I sound things out letter by letter, which doesn’t always match up to the English pronunciation of words. So today’s took me an extra step before it clicked.

We were finger painting with Charlie the other day and my wife Amanda started playing around with the brushes and ended up with this. I love it! Such nice texture. She had no plan and it took about 5 minutes. It would take me a month to create something like this with a generative art script in Processing.

New A11y guidelines (WCAG 2.2) dropped today.
After updating to macOS Sonoma last night, I found myself unable to get online this morning. It took me a while to figure out, but the problem ended up being Little Snitch, a reverse firewall. I was running a version that wouldn’t run correctly on Sonoma, but since it was blocking access to the internet for everything I couldn’t update it. I had to go to System Settings > Network > Filters and turn off Little Snitch to stop filtering my internet connection through it, then I was able to get online and run the update.
FEMA and the FCC are doing a nationwide test of the emergency alert system on October 4 around 2:20pm Eastern.
