  • Yard sale buy of the month: Two brand new Nordic Ware mini scone pans for $5. They retail for $39 each, and we love scones!
  • Bookmarking for the future for Charlie: MASS MoCA does art camp for kids in grades 2-6.

  • Going old school tonight. Drinking a Sherry Cobbler with blueberry and lemon while I peel garden tomatoes to make sauce.

Y’all, I’ve been sleeping on the Sherry Cobbler. It is delicious, low abv, easy to make, and adaptable to whatever fruit is in season.

  • One of my photos being used at WordCamp US! Thanks to Anne McCarthy for sharing.

  • Someone stop me. I’m trying a new bookmarking app again. I can’t help myself. https://anybox.app/

  • I recently learned that my wife’s Cricut Maker can draw with pens, which effectively makes it a plotter. Time to export a few SVGs and try some test plots on the next rainy day.

  • WordPressCS 3.0.0 has been released after 3 years of development!

  • This summer we instituted Sandwich Fridays with some local friends. We block 12pm on our calendars and meet at a sandwich shop for lunch while the kids are at daycare. Highly recommended.

  • Hydrangea in the front yard looking lovely. We think it is a ‘Limelight’ Panicle Hydrangea.

  • Loving these Magic Bullet tomatoes we planted this year.

  • Amazon delivery recently switched from Sprinter vans to electric vans from Rivian here. Started noticing them around town last week.

  • I asked my wife if she has tried Mastodon yet: "I keep confusing that with Evernote." Me: "Have you tried Bluesky or Nostr?" Her: "Now you’re just making up words."

  • The tomatoes are loving the rain and humidity, even if we aren’t.

  • Power had been out for 5 hours and the power company keeps bumping the time estimate back an hour at a time, so it is time to get the generator out.

  • Overheard from a NY pizza maker: "Hawaiian?! confused look and gesturing Nah. I got regula pizza."

  • One benefit (maybe the only one) of the basement flooding is that it is now cleaner that it has been in a couple years.

  • Removed ~80 gallons of water from the basement with the shop vac, not including the dehumidifier, which drains into the sink. Thankfully it is starting to dry out except for a few spots where water is still slowly seeping up.

  • If Threads doesn’t meet its revenue benchmarks in 12 months, I bet Meta will shut it down just like they did with Bulletin (remember that from last year?)

  • Currently sucking up water in the basement. Fun.
