Weekly Beans

One of the things I want to do in 2026 is to cook more beans. It occurred to me a few nights ago that I should try to make at least one bean dish each week.

I started on January 2 with a chicken, wild rice, and black eyed pea soup.

Here are some more ideas:

  1. We make this chick pea dish with regularity. The curry stains on cooking utensils don’t last forever and it’s all totally worth it. Not entirely sure if young folk would like it though…

  2. I’m not sure if Lentils are a type of bean, but my dad makes Lentils with Chorizo and it’s delicious. He doesn’t have a recipe he just sort of wings it. But what he makes looks like the recipe below.
