After messing around with my metal detector, tape measure, and shovel, and staring intently at my survey for an hour, I still can’t find my property pins, so I think I’ll have the surveyor come out and mark the boundaries for me. That should have the added benefit of legitimacy in the eyes of my neighbors, one of whom will be unhappy when my new fence goes through some of her flower beds, which are technically on my property.
